DJI Osmo Pro & Raw Handheld Gimbal & Camera
Sometimes you want stabilized video but don’t want to take along a full-size, top-of-the-line gimbal — or can’t because of size or time constraints. For those moments — or if you can’t yet afford a big rig — the DJI Osmo Pro/RAW offers an ideal setup. It’s light. It’s compact. It’s ready to use in minutes. And most importantly, the DJI Osmo Pro is highly capable.
The DJI X5 camera, mounted on the Osmo’s standard 3-axis gimbal, shoots shake-free 4K video and sharp 16MP stills. It accepts interchangeable lenses with an MFT amount, so you can choose quality optics from DJI, Olympus or Panasonic Lumix. Two versions of Osmo Pro are available: Pro, which let you edit in the widely popular Final Cut software, and RAW, which shoots in RAW mode.
Every Osmo Pro includes:
- Stability from 3-axis gimbal
- 4K video and 16MP stills from Zenmuse X5 camera (X5R on Raw models)
- Accommodation for smartphones up to 5.5 inches
- Acceptance of optional DJI Focus for remote operation
- Extended shooting time from 4 high-capacity batteries, quad charger and external battery extender
- Interchangeable lens mount
High-Performance Osmo Handheld System
The Osmo Pro is designed to give you the same stability and video-recording capabilities found in the X5 camera that is mounted to some DJI flying platforms. An X56 adaptor allows use of the X5 camera on the Osmo handle and its silent 3-axis gimbal. The gimbal compensates for hand, arm and body movements to make video shake-free.
The ergonomic, lightweight handle incorporates controls, a microphone and a long-life battery, and it has a smartphone holder. It accommodates such options as an extender stick for more angles, and it can be used with an optional tripod or a variety of available mounts, including for a bike or car. It also accepts attachment of DJI Focus for optional remote control of focus and aperture.
X5 High Performance Camera
The Zenmuse X5 camera from DJI accepts interchangeable lenses with an MTF mount, so you can opt for focal length, including zoom lenses, aperture and functions that best meet your needs. This four-thirds camera records 4K video and 16MP stills on more pixels than even the Sony RX100 or Panasonic LX7. The ISO range is a staggering 100 to 25600.
Tap Focus lets you touch an area of the screen to tell the camera to focus there automatically. You can also adjust aperture, shutter and white balance onscreen. The X5R on Osmo Pro RAW allows you to shoot and edit in RAW mode.
Osmo Pro Accessories
You can add far more than the tripod, extender, DJF Focus and mounts. Lens filters are available through Drone Nerds, as are a Flexi Microphone, external battery extender, extra batteries, and a Z-axis adapter. A Manfrotto LED light helps with low-light shooting.
