Long Range Antenna Upgrades & Parts
A dropped signal is more than an inconvenience. It can destroy an aerial video session or interfere with an important industrial inspection — or race. And you know as well as anybody that there are times more range would really be convenient — or necessary.
The answer is an antenna upgrade, and DroneNerds.com has a wide selection. Whatever you’re flying — a Phantom 3 Pro or Standard, Phantom 4, Inspire 1, or Yuneec quadcopter — Drone Nerds has an antenna that will add controller and video transmission range. Drone Nerds makes sure you get the signal boost you need while staying on budget.
Why a High-Performance Antenna?
Signal interference comes from many sources. Dense forests and foliage can block a signal. Hills and rock ledges can interfere. Tall buildings take their toll. Did you know that even the way you’re holding your remote controller can reduce your signal? Antenna signal boosters, especially coils, overcome those problems, even improving video transmission.
Signal Gain from Helical Antennas
A signal falls off if standard linear antennas are tilted laterally or not properly aligned with the drone. With a circular or helical antenna, the signal does not degrade when the controller is tilted. Boosted signals add about 10 dBi. Combined with lower falloff, improvement in strength and range is dramatic. Coiled antennas have 60-degree directionality, so although you must point a controller toward your UAV, your aim doesn’t have to be as precise.
